Our cardiologist Dr. Fulton just stopped by and said today is the day to go home!!!! Julian had a great night last night off the oxygen which was the clincher for letting us go.
Over the past couple of days we’ve had visitors – both sets of Grandmas and Grandpas have been here a lot and Terry, Rob and Tina – Tom’s siblings as well as Dave, Carol & Mo, Joe, Michele, Laura, Alyson & Brandon (and their little one to be), Kim and Doug.
Having all of this in person support and all the calls, messages, cards, gifts was amazing. You were our life line!
We’ll keep you posted on life with Julian and his milestones as time goes on. He just started rolling from back to belly right before his surgery so we are hoping he resumes that relatively quickly and starts to do more fun baby things.
So here’s to closing this chapter and resuming “life as we know it”. Cheers!

Wonderful news!! You graduated. I felt like we had gone through the fire and come out the other side. I was never so grateful as the day we got to take Gracie home from her open heart surgery. Way to go Julian! You are a Warrior Prince and have the scar to prove it! Have a wonderful time recovering as a family at home. Love, Melanie and Gracie
awww so happy for you and your family! best wishes as you transition to home life with your sweet little boy!
Grateful, grateful, grateful! There is a big lump in my throat after catching up with the last couple posts…. You are a wonderful family! I see your roots going deep, deep down as you reach for new strength and perspective…and find it.
Much love, Kent
Hooray for J! And for your whole, beautiful family. I’m so glad you’re all home now. On to the “more fun baby things.” We send you love and hugs from Maryland, from Nate, Amy, Alec, and Zöe.
Dear Gretchan,
Long time no talk, but Todd has been filling me in on Julian’s journey. I am so excited for you that he is able to go home! “Home sweet Home!!”
I will continue to say lots of prayers!!
xo Amy
Glad to hear Julian is doing well. Thanks for posting pics!
Hope Canter Noar I am thrilled that you are taking your cutie home and you can once again be a family! Julian is an absolutely beautiful baby, surrounded by so much love! If you visit in the spring I would love to come over and hold him in my arms. I am sure that he will resume his rolling over and cooing. And now the surgery is behind you….Sending hugs…..
